While many people stay indoors Friday as a winter blast hammers Southern Ontario, some Lady Gaga fans are weathering driving wind and accumulating snow while queuing for her concert in Toronto Friday night.
Dozens of parka-clad Lady Gaga fans are outdoors — in line next to the Air Canada Centre in downtown Toronto — waiting to be first ones admitted for the concert's general admission seating.
The Grammy-winning American pop star is performing two back-to-back concerts in Toronto as part of her current tour, The Born This Way Ball.
"Please note that this show is still on despite the recent snowstorm," according to a statement posted on the Air Canada Centre website.
Early bird fans are taking cover in tents erected under a highway overpass next to the venue, with some diehards reportedly having camped out for several days.
Most of southern Ontario remained under a snowfall warning on Friday morning, with the weather causing widespread school closures, flight cancellations and poor visibility for drivers. Roads in and around Toronto are covered in snow, with slippery conditions across the city. Toronto is expected to receive 20 cm or more of snow by Friday night.
Gaga moves onto Montreal on Monday and returns to Ontario for a concert in Hamilton on Feb. 17.
